quiet effort

A calm, simple app that helps you notice what’s quietly done—for you, and by you. At home, with close ones, and even with strangers.

See What Often Goes Unseen

“quiet effort” helps you remember small acts of care—what others do for you, what you do for others, and even kindnesses from strangers you may never meet again. It’s not about points or scores. It’s about appreciation, self-care, and growth.

Why I Built quiet effort

I built a dating app first. I thought the main problem was how people meet. But I kept seeing something else: people leaving relationships not because love was gone, but because they still felt unseen.

Both sides often felt like they were doing everything—and the other person didn’t notice. The problem wasn’t a lack of care; it was a lack of noticing. We’re overloaded, distracted, and no one really teaches us what everyday effort looks like.

quiet effort is my response. It helps people notice what’s quietly done—at home, with close ones, and even with strangers—and say thanks while it still matters. And when you also notice what you do, that’s self-care: it builds calm, resilience, and a healthier sense of worth.

How It Works

  1. Log an effort: Something you did, or something someone did for you—making a meal, fixing something, offering support, holding a door.
  2. Say thanks in real life: The app prompts you (or them) to appreciate face to face—not just tap a heart.
  3. See your calendar of kindness: Over time, you build a living record of care—proof that you give, receive, and are not alone.

Where It Fits in Your Life

  • At home: Families, couples, and housemates—appreciation keeps things fairer and warmer.
  • Close ones beyond home: Friends, relatives, or a long-distance partner—stay connected through everyday kindness.
  • Strangers: Sometimes you can’t say thanks in person. You can still remember the moment and let it shape your day.
  • For yourself: Noticing your own quiet efforts is self-care. It protects against burnout and reminds you that what you do matters.

Why These Moments Matter

Quiet contributions—like listening patiently, cleaning up without being asked, or offering help on a tough day—keep homes, relationships, and communities going. Left unnoticed, they build resentment. Noticed, they build connection.

quiet effort helps surface these moments without turning life into a scoreboard. As appreciation becomes a habit, relationships grow stronger—and your own mental balance improves.

It helps with:

  • Unnoticed contributions: From everyday chores to emotional labor.
  • Preventing resentment: When people feel like their efforts don’t count.
  • Making gratitude a habit: Gentle prompts that encourage real-life appreciation.
  • Personal growth: Seeing both giving and receiving builds perspective, humility, and resilience.
