Healing Mates Digital Inc. ("we", "us", "our") operates the Quiet Effort app ("App"). This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your data.

1. Information We Collect

  • Personal Information: Email address, profile name, emoji avatar, group memberships, and “Close Ones Beyond Group” connections.
  • Effort Data: Logged entries including who did the effort (you or someone else), what was done, who it helped, visibility settings, and timestamps.
  • Group Data: Group IDs, join codes, admin actions, and membership activity.
  • Usage & Device Data: App interactions, diagnostics, crash reports, session logs, and device info (e.g., OS version, model).
  • Advertising Data: Device identifiers used by AdMob, including advertising ID, as handled by Google services.

2. How We Use Your Information

  • To provide and maintain core app functionality.
  • To manage group activity and close-ones connections.
  • To support visibility of Efforts—both those you’ve done and those others did for you—to the right people.
  • To monitor app health, prevent abuse, and ensure reliability.
  • If you opt in: To analyze usage trends and anonymized effort patterns to inform future features and services.
  • If you opt in: To contact you about important updates or for feedback that helps shape the app.

3. Sharing and Visibility

  • Your entries are visible to those you’ve included—either your group or selected close ones beyond group.
  • If you log that someone helped you, it will also appear in their app with attribution.
  • Leaving a group does not remove efforts already shared with that group’s members.
  • We do not sell your personal data to marketers or third parties.
  • We rely on secure cloud services (e.g., Firebase) to manage and protect your data.

4. Consent Preferences

Available in-app for clarity and control:

  • Allow anonymous data use: Lets us analyze trends to better serve families and relationships—without using names, messages, or personal details.
  • Allow occasional contact: Enables us to notify you of helpful updates or invite you to give feedback.
  • AdMob’s EU consent dialog is used where applicable to handle personalized ads.

Users who opt in may receive early access to new features or other benefits in the future, though no guarantees are made.

5. Cross-Border Transfers

  • Your data may be processed in countries other than your own. Use of the app implies consent to this.

6. Children’s Privacy

  • Quiet Effort is intended for users aged 13 and older. Users under 13 must have guardian consent.

7. Your Rights and Options

  • You can delete your efforts anytime.
  • You may remove connections and leave groups freely.
  • You can delete your entire account via in-app settings.

8. Data Security

  • We use secure storage, access controls, and encryption where appropriate.
  • However, no method is foolproof. Use the app at your discretion.

9. Retention and Backups

  • Inactive accounts may be removed after a period of dormancy.
  • Backups are for system stability and not available for individual data recovery.

10. Changes to This Policy

  • This policy may be updated. Your continued use means you accept any changes.

11. Language and Interpretation

  • This policy is presented in English. Translated versions (if shown in-app) are for convenience only and not legally binding.

13. Liability Disclaimer

  • We are not liable for external breaches, outages, or misuse beyond our reasonable control.

14. Severability

  • If part of this policy becomes invalid, the rest remains in effect.

15. Governing Law

  • This policy is governed by the laws of Ontario, Canada.

16. Local Notes Stored on Device

  • The app allows you to save personal notes locally using the “My Notes” feature.
  • These notes are stored only on your device and are not synced to our servers.
  • The notes will be permanently deleted if you log out, delete your account, uninstall the app, or clear the app’s data or storage on your device.
  • We cannot access or restore these notes once they are deleted.
