Welcome to Quiet Effort, an app offered by Healing Mates Digital Inc. ("we", "us", "our"), a registered corporation in Ontario, Canada. These Terms govern your use of the Quiet Effort app ("App"). By using the App, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the App.

1. Eligibility, Account Responsibility, and Login Methods

  • You must be 13 years or older or have verified parental consent.
  • You agree to provide truthful information and are responsible for activity under your account.
  • Do not share your account with others or impersonate anyone else.
  • You may log in using supported authentication methods, such as Google or Sign in with Apple.
  • If you use “Sign in with Apple” and choose to hide your email address, Apple will assign a private relay email (e.g., ending in @privaterelay.appleid.com).
  • We use your login email to verify your identity for support. If you use a hidden relay email, we may not be able to confirm your account if you contact us through our support portal. By choosing this option, you acknowledge and accept this limitation.

2. Community Standards and Content

  • Entries ("Efforts") must be kind, truthful, and appropriate for users of all ages.
  • You may log Efforts for things you’ve done to help others or things others did that helped you.
  • We do not allow content that is offensive, abusive, deceptive, or violates anyone’s rights.
  • We may remove or moderate entries or accounts without prior notice if we detect misuse.

3. Groups and Close Connections

  • Groups are intended for people who live together (e.g., family, housemates, partners).
  • Close Ones Beyond Group allows you to connect with people outside your household (e.g., friends, long-distance partners) using a connection code.
  • Each group has one or more admins who manage requests and members. Admins may promote/demote others and regenerate group join codes when needed.
  • If you leave a group, your past Efforts—whether logged by you or received from others—will remain visible to remaining group members and connected individuals to preserve shared appreciation history.

4. Features and Modifications

  • We may modify or discontinue features at any time, with or without notice.
  • No refunds, credits, or guarantees are provided for changes to the app or services.

5. Analytics, Insights, and Consent

  • Certain features (such as app improvements, anonymized pattern recognition, or optional updates) may require your consent.
  • If you opt in, we may analyze patterns from Effort entries to guide development and explore ideas that help more families and relationships. This never includes names or personal information shared outside your device.
  • Future benefits or priority access may be offered to consenting users, but no guarantees or specific outcomes are promised.
  • You can manage your data and communication preferences from within the app settings at any time.

6. Limitation of Liability

  • The App is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind.
  • We are not liable for emotional distress, data loss, or indirect damages arising from app use.

7. Technical Issues and Uptime

  • We are not responsible for outages, bugs, or technical disruptions.
  • While we aim to provide a smooth experience, we cannot guarantee continuous access.

8. Payments and Refunds

  • All payments, if any, are final. We do not offer refunds or reimbursements.

9. Force Majeure

  • We are not liable for issues arising from events beyond our control, such as natural disasters, war, or government restrictions.

10. Dispute Resolution and Governing Law

  • Any disputes will be resolved via binding arbitration in Ontario, Canada.
  • These Terms are governed by Ontario law, without regard to conflict of law rules.

11. Indemnification

  • You agree to indemnify and hold Healing Mates Digital Inc. harmless from any claims or liabilities resulting from your use of the App or violation of these Terms.

12. International Use and Data Transfers

  • The App is hosted and operated from Canada. By using it, you consent to your data being transferred internationally where applicable.

13. Severability

  • If any provision in these Terms is found unenforceable, the remaining sections remain in full force.

14. Updates to These Terms

  • We may revise these Terms at any time. Continued use of the App after updates means you accept the new Terms.

15. Language and Translations

  • This Terms of Use is provided in English only and governs your use of the App.
  • The App may display content in other languages through automatic translation for convenience.
  • These translations may be inaccurate or incomplete. No warranty is made regarding the accuracy of any translated content.
  • In case of any conflict or inconsistency, the English version of this Terms of Use shall prevail.

17. Local Notes and Device Storage

  • The app includes a feature called “My Notes,” which allows you to save notes on your device.
  • These notes are not stored on our servers and are only accessible from your device.
  • The notes will be deleted if you log out, delete your account, uninstall the app, or clear the app’s data or storage on your device.
  • We do not have access to these notes and cannot recover them once deleted.
