You ever realize how much a friend does for you without saying a word? Like when my car battery died in the middle of winter—he didn’t just send me a text, he showed up with jumper cables and coffee. Or when I left my bag at his place, and instead of just tossing it aside, he drove across town to drop it off. I laughed and said, ‘You didn’t have to do that,’ but inside, I knew… that’s rare. That’s the kind of friendship that keeps you standing. It’s so easy to shrug it off and move on, but I’ve started slowing down, actually saying thanks. I use an app called quiet effort. It keeps me from taking my best friend for granted.
