You don’t forget who shows up when life gets ugly. When I was sick, when I couldn’t get out of bed, when even picking up the phone felt like too much—you were there. You didn’t ask for details, you didn’t try to fix me, you just sat on the couch, made sure I ate something, made sure I wasn’t alone. That’s not the kind of help you can measure in hours or favors. That’s friendship that saves you. And now, even on the normal days, when you grab me a coffee or check in with a quick text, I remind myself to actually say thanks. Because I know what it means. I use an app called quiet effort. It keeps me from forgetting how rare friends like you really are.
